Though a formidable tank, from weaponry and armour the design was flawed because the huge Turret and armour was built on to the unmodified KV1 Suspension and Motor, the turret traverse was ridiculously slow and at 25mph, the vehicle was too slow and a fuel guzzler. It could be said that the greatest enemy of the KV2 was itself
The majority of KV-2 losses in 1941 were due to breakdowns or lack of fuel which forced them to be abandoned. The 41st Tank Division lost two thirds of its 33 KV-2s, but only five were as a result of enemy action. Which backs up what I was saying, the story was the same in all the other Soviet Formations employing them.
Of course in WOT just as with every other Soviet vehicle, they are far more powerful than they ever were on the battlefield.
There are lot of Articles on the net, most saying much the same thing, here is one http://www.militaryfactory.com/armor/de ... mor_id=210
